RYE SHOE REPAIRS

Recently our old friend Richard Cross from Rye Shoe Repairs had some operational issues with his Victor Outsoler and DN76 Insole Stitcher.  Ideally he wanted to replace the old Victor with a Standard Goodyear, and see what could be done to refurbish his DN76.

We hit upon the idea that the best and most practical way around Richard’s issues would be for him to load his stitchers into the back of his transit van and pay Standard a visit.  That way he would be able to test out a new Goodyear in our showroom, and our engineers could take a good look at his DN76.  Upon his arrival he and his wife were given the “50 pence” tour of the showroom and factory.  As with most visitors, they were impressed by the thoroughness of the operation we run.  Richard also seized the opportunity to put the Goodyear Outsoler through its paces, under the guidance of Sales Director Keith Malyon.

Then, whilst Keith was treating The Cross’s to lunch at the nearby Thornhill Arms in the picturesque village of Rushton, our engineers prepared the showroom Goodyear for sale, and gave the DN76 a thorough service and inspection of the type that can only really be done in a factory environment.

Upon return from lunch, and after the deal had been agreed, we loaded the Goodyear and refurbished DN76 back into Richard’s transit van.  We accepted as a traded-in Richard’s old Victor, and concluded a good day’s business all round.  The Cross’s had a good day at Standard, gaining an insight into our operation, and we sold a valued customer a machine which will stand him in good stead for years to come.

Richard adds, “Myself and my wife had a great day out and were very impressed with your work place.  Thanks for the experience. We would definitely recommend getting hands on experience with the machinery you are purchasing with Standard Engineering.

Many thanks,

Richard.
