Quality British Made Shoe Repair Machinery

MAJOR MACHINERY INVESTMENT BY STANDARD ENGINEERING LTD.

In the last month Standard Engineering Ltd have invested heavily in two new Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. These machines operate on a principal not unlike the 3-axis engraving machine you may have in your shop, although obviously a good deal bigger, not to mention more expensive! The investment in turning and milling machinery represent a strong belief in the future of shoe repairing and Standard’s role in supplying the future needs of the industry.

The construction of shoe repair machines involves some components that previously we have had to buy in which left us overly reliant on suppliers and stockists. With these new machines much of this work can now be done in our factory. This allows us to better regulate the production, quality control and stock levels of important mechanisms, which are integral parts of our machinery.

Standard will have the flexibility to make a single part or fifty parts as required. We will also retain quality control in-house rather than rely on suppliers. This in turn will allow us to have greater control over costs and lead times, which will improve efficiency and keep costs down.

The increased engineering capability of the CNC machines allied to Standard’s highly skilled workforce allows us to build upon the quality and reliability of our machinery. This investment will allow Standard to better supply and support our customers for years to come.
