  • Do you manufacture machines?

Yes. We are now the only OEM manufacturer in the UK and a major player in the World Market

  • What's the difference between second hand and refurbished machines?

As and when such machines are available - second hand machines will be cleaned and checked both electrically and mechanically with any faulty parts replaced. Re-conditioned machines are fully stripped, shot blasted, painted and oven baked. They are then re-built, as new, replacing all worn parts, including filter bags and consumables.

  • What colours are available?

The main RAL (industry standard) colours. There is also a choice of a gloss or hammer finish in most cases.

  • Can you deliver and install?

We can deliver but unfortunately we are unable to connect to customers electrical supply due to restrictions on Insurance and Health and Safety regulations.  We will advise what should be on the wall, and can supply the kit with the correct plug to fit the suggested socket.

  • Do you offer warranties?

Twelve months parts and labour (consumables not included) on new machines. Three months parts and labour on reconditioned and three months mechanical on second hand machines.

  • Are there options available on tooling?

Some machines have additional tooling options. Details are available on request.

  • Do you do everything I require to start shoe repairing?

    Yes apart from materials.

  • Can you offer me a service contract?

Yes, subject to conditions. Contact us for details.

  • Is finance available?

Not from us, but we can put you in touch with leasing companies (though we always suggest you speak to your Bank Manager first).  Options include repayments over 3 or 5 years, and even deferred payments.  All leasing is offered subject to status!

  • Can you offer machine manuals?

These are available for most current and some past models.

  • Do you carry spares?

Our warehouse carries some stock of spares for the many different machine manufacturers, although increasingly this is become reduced to cutters, brushes and needles for most machines from stock.

  • Why should I buy a new machine?

    Ask yourself these questions:

When was the last time I had my machines serviced?
How much dust in my shop?
Does it make more noise than it used to?
Is my workload higher and therefore can I make my life easier?

We at Standard believe we have the best range of value for money machines on the market and are well placed to satisfy all our current and future customers in their quest to fulfill their ambitions. Indeed, our current 710 finishing machine is one of the best selling finishing machines ever!

We are constantly looking at improving our range of products and services and intend to stay at the forefront of the shoe repairing industry in the UK and abroad. New machines are quieter, healthier, for both operator and customer, more compact and ergonomic and will assist you greatly in increasing your productivity. Oh and I might add, we are a successful BRITISH manufacturing Company.

  • Should I buy NEW or a Reconditioned machine?

We have NEW finishing machines that start from around £10,000. More to the point, can you afford not to buy NEW! Most customers tell us they wish they'd done it years ago!
